Development of a new website for the Vyhlídka Kindergarten

We have created a new website for the Vyhlídka Kindergarten and are responsible for its operation.

At the end of last year, we prepared a design proposal for a new website for the Vyhlídka Kindergarten. Originally, our collaboration was due to end at this stage, and the actual development was to be taken over by someone else. In the end, however, the kindergarten approached us to carry out the implementation as well, and so we were able to see the entire project through from the initial design to the finished website.

From design to the finished website

Our work did not end simply with converting the finished design into a functional website. One of the main challenges was to design a suitable data structure and content management system so that administering the website would be as simple and straightforward as possible for the kindergarten staff.

A headless CMS tailored to the needs of a kindergarten

For content management, we opted for the headless CMS Strapi. By separating the content itself from the website’s front end, we were able to design the administration interface specifically to match the structure and needs of the kindergarten, rather than having to adapt a generic content management system.

Website administrators therefore work with clearly defined content types and edit only what they actually need. The website itself remains a standalone application, which we were able to build exactly in line with the prepared design.

Why we didn't choose WordPress?

WordPress could, of course, have been used for a website of this kind. In this case, however, a headless solution made more sense to us. It enabled us to create a simpler administration system tailored to the specific content, to define its structure precisely, whilst retaining greater freedom in implementing the proposed design.

The result is a solution that delivers:

  • simpler and more organised content management,
  • a precisely defined structure for the website and its content,
  • greater freedom in implementing the design,
  • a fast and lightweight website,
  • better control over security and ongoing maintenance.

Our collaboration continues even after the website launch

Our collaboration with the Vyhlídka Kindergarten did not end with the launch of the website. We continue to host the site on our web hosting service, provide technical support and ensure the further development of both the website and its content management system.

This allows us to gradually expand the website in line with the kindergarten’s current needs. At present, for example, we are finalising a secure section intended solely for parents, through which it will be possible to make non-public documents, posts or photo galleries available.

Our aim is for the website not to be merely a one-off project, but a long-term, reliable and practical tool that can continue to evolve alongside the needs of the kindergarten.
